What is an Isanode?
An isanode (ī-sə-nōd) is a complex form of quasi-cryptic poetry or writing. It can express any thought or feeling, appearing either as a complete work or as a puzzle to be deciphered by the reader.
Writing a captivating isanode challenges both writer and reader. The writer must create a grammatically sound, meaningful composition that conceals further layers—called the array. The reader's task is to reveal these layers by regrouping letters without changing their order, only adjusting spaces and punctuation.
How to Create an Isanode
- Write a single, properly spaced and punctuated line that expresses an idea.
- Regroup the same letters—keeping their order—to form new, meaningful lines (the array).
- Optionally, hide one or more lines of the array for readers to decipher upon observation.
- Ideally, ensure each line connects in theme or meaning.
A few simple examples:
Some? So me! A blaze. Ablaze!
Notable Isanodes (Completed)
An apple ad. A nap plead. Letter mend. Let term end! I doat, tackle ads! I do attack leads.

Plane as tin sultan. Danger! Plan east? Insult and anger. Soon. Eye llama zone, at... So, one yell, "Amazon eat!"
The Philosophy Behind It
The word isanode is an example of itself. By regrouping its letters, maintaining their order, we discover:
Isanode Is a node. Is an ode.
Each version shares the same sequence of letters yet reveals a new layer of meaning—an elegant metaphor for thought itself.
